42,000 words in 30 days. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to manage 8,000 words in a little over one hour (I'd need to do 103 words per minute) so I'm not going to 'win' NaNoWriMo this year. Damn.
So I broke through the 40,000 word mark. In theory it's all just coasting downhill to the finish line now... except there's only 4.5 hours left until my midnight deadline to complete a 50k word novel first draft. Oh well.
24.5 hours to produce another 10,000 words... why not? I've written 15,000 words in a day before.
I wrote half of this chapter back on the 23rd. I've just finished it. Only got another 12,000 words to write in 26.5 hours. No sleep for the wicked.
I've caught up halfway. Another chapter to go today... watch this space.
I'm 1,246 behind and I've got another 1,667 words to write, so that's 2,913 words in a day that I've got to write. So damn easy to slip with these writing projects. Oh well... keep plodding on I guess.
Writing a book is hard. Who would've thunk it? I've written 25,211 words, taking me just over the halfway point. 15 more days to go!
It's 2am. I'm trying to catch up on word count and get back to enjoying writing, having gotten behind and felt like giving up. At least everything I've read in my research is confirming that I'm barking up the right proverbial tree, as it were.
I nearly quit. Have been feeling dreadfully ill, both physically and mentally. Somewhat re-composed myself after a wobble, but I still have to catch up on my word count.
Still paying the price for Saturday night's heavy drinking sesh. This damn book is not writing itself.
